The ingredients

Ingredient review

No US major allergen is intentionally listed in this base recipe. Check every package and your own requirements. This is not a cross-contact or allergy-safety certification.

Let’s make it

  1. 01

Wash the pear and blueberries. Dice the pear, keeping the skin if preferred.

  2. 02

Bring water to a simmer. Add oats, pear and cinnamon; cook according to the oat package, stirring until creamy.

  3. 03

Stir in chia seeds and let stand for 2 minutes. Add a splash of water if needed.

  4. 04

Divide between bowls and finish with blueberries and pumpkin seeds.

The finishing touch

Save a few fresh pear pieces for a crisp contrast on top.

Make tomorrow easier

Make the oat base ahead and refrigerate promptly; add fruit and seeds at serving. Refrigerate perishable foods within 2 hours (1 hour above 90°F). Use refrigerated cooked leftovers within 3 to 4 days; freeze later-week portions. Reheat cooked leftovers to 165°F. Food storage guidance.

THE FOOD-PATTERN CONNECTION

Oats offer soluble fiber, and whole fruit adds texture. A serving still contains carbohydrate; individual portions and glucose responses vary.
